Junior AI Software Engineer (Python)
Responsibilities:
- As part of the back-end development team, participate in the design, development & integration of the Company’s AI-Powered software applications, translating requirements into deliverables that are on-specification, with quality (maintainable & testable) and according to agreed timelines
- Assigned tasks will include both product enhancement “roadmap” features, and adaptations to individual customer private-cloud installation
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams including:
- Product Research & Prototyping
- Front-end UI/UX Design
- Database Development & Management
- Account Servicing & Customer Project Management
- Technical Support & Maintenance
- Proactively engage with Product / Project Manager through development cycle to mitigate risks to quality and / or project schedule
Requirements:
- Design, develop, and fine-tune machine learning models with a focus on latest LLM technologies e.g. Azure OpenAI/DeepSeek/Qwen/Mistral Models …etc
- Implement prompt engineering techniques to optimize Al models for specific tasks and applications.
- Experience with Generative Al frameworks such as Huggingface, LangChain, Azure GenAI, AliCloud GenAI …etc
- Deploy machine learning models in production environments, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Proficiency in programming languages in python to develop Generative Al applications
- Strong experience working on Product development using an Agile methodology
- Proactive about maintaining skill set and stay up to date on emerging technologies
Education & Experience:
- Diplomas or Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, Al or related disciplines
- 2 years + hands on programming experience in:
- Python application development and deployment
- Sound knowledge of Linux-based operating systems, e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Experience using standard IDEs e.g. eclipse, Visual Studio Code
- Experience using Gitlab source code control
- Candidates with less experience/Fresh graduates with experience in the following preferred experience (full time, part time or internships) will be considered:
- Al, Fintech and/or Ed-Tech development
- Ul/UX & usability – design user interfaces/prototypes for AI application
- Research Assistant related to AI/ML technology
Competencies:
- Solid problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities
- Willingness to explore, learn and work on new technologies
- Good verbal and written communication skills In English & Cantonese, both to interact with customer and/or project partners, but to master the use of AI tools that the Company uses in daily operations
- Knowledge of Putonghua preferred
